Ms McAuliffe was in the process of divorcing Mr Philcox when in June 13 last year he took the children during an access day away. "Amy was the boss. She was very strong willed, very artistic and loved nothing more than dressing up, playing with make-up, painting and drawing.
"She was exceptional for her age and loved painting pictures of mermaids and butterflies.
"Owen was more laid back. He enjoyed playing with his Thomas the Tank Engine toys and chasing people around the house with his toy dinosaurs.

"He would snuggle up to me and play with my hair, pulling it around my face, rubbing it in his cheeks and playing with it like a baby would play with a comfort blanket.
"These are the things that I miss, but most of all I miss just not having them around."
Ms McAuliffe, of Runcorn, Cheshire, was in the process of divorcing Mr Philcox when in June 13 last year he took the children during an access day away.
