A flat fire in the Doury Road estate in Ballymena is being treated as suspicious. Five men have been arrested after trouble in a Ballymena housing estate on Saturday afternoon.
The fire, early on Sunday morning, at a flat in Sandown Park was confined to the stairwell. A crowd, including a number of men with sticks and other weapons, gathered in Sandown Park in the Doury Road estate.
The residents were not in their home at the time. It is the second fire in the area within 12 hours. A man in his 20s was assaulted and suffered a suspected broken arm. A flat was also damaged in a fire and a car attacked.
