The victim, an Asian woman in her 40s, was an employee at Peacocks in Majestic Way, Mitcham, south London, where the attack happened on Friday afternoon. The woman sustained several wounds at the rear of the shop, police said. A post-mortem test gave the cause of death as stab wounds to neck and chest.
She has not been named. Mrs Champaclal was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.
