Gunmen have killed two Fatah-allied Palestinian security officials in the southern Gaza Strip. Five Palestinians were killed during the day as factional tensions in Gaza led to renewed outbreaks of fighting.
Officials said a third security official was injured in the ambush in the town of Khan Younis. Gunmen killed three Fatah-allied security officials in Khan Younis, while a Fatah man died in north Gaza.
Sources in the mainstream Fatah group blamed the ruling militant group Hamas for the attack. So far there has been no comment from Hamas. Clashes also broke out in Jabaliya where a woman was fatally caught in the crossfire and several people were hurt, hospital officials said.
