Teenager shot in head with airgun

An 18-year-old man was shot in the forehead with an airgun fired from a tower block on New Year's Day, police have revealed.

The teenager was walking on Kirkton Avenue, Scotstoun, Glasgow at about 1510 GMT on Monday when he was shot.

He was taken to the Western Infirmary and released after treatment.

Detectives said they had been told of other cases in which an airgun had been fired in the area. They are carrying out door-to-door inquiries.
