The plan was to have Trump deliver remarks at a grand event in Florida next month, but he says how he will deliver those words is now to be determined. The North Carolina portion of the convention, where delegates choose the party's nominee, will however go forward as planned. After the North Carolina governor called for a more limited event for Trump's acceptance speech, diet to the coronavirus pandemic, the president partially relocated the convention events to Florida. The move, however, raised concerns because of rising coronavirus cases in the state, as well as security issues with the change being so last minute.  The Charlotte, North Carolina portion of the convention, where delegates are scheduled to formally choose the party's nominee, will go forward as planned, however.
After North Carolina's Democrat governor called for a more limited event due to the coronavirus pandemic, the president moved to relocate some of the convention events to Jacksonville.
