Cash and cigarettes have been stolen from an off-licence in south Belfast.

Shortly before 1800 GMT on Tuesday a man, armed with a knife, entered the premises in the Tates Avenue area.

A member of staff attempted to serve him before he produced the knife and demanded money. The police have appealed for information.

The man has been described as 24 or 25-years-old, 6'2", of medium build and wearing a dark hooded top, blue jeans, fingerless gloves and a beanie hat.
