An investigation is under way after a five-year-old girl was found walking barefoot in the snow in Omagh. A five-year-old girl has been taken into care after being found barefoot and dressed in pyjamas a quarter of a mile from her home.
She was spotted alone in her pyjamas in the early hours of Thursday morning by shop workers who called the police. She was discovered in the snow in Omagh last Thursday at about 0500 GMT.
Officers collected the child and followed her footsteps to a house in the town. The girl was found by staff at a Supervalu store. They wrapped her in a sweater and placed her by a heater before calling the police.
A man and a woman were arrested but have been released pending further inquiries. The police and social services are investigating. A man and a woman were arrested in connection with the incident but have been released.
