The emergency services were called to Addiewell, in West Lothian, following a fire inside the complex just after 2000 GMT on Monday. Five men were placed in a segregation unit and five were reported to the procurator fiscal after the three-hour incident at Addiewell in West Lothian.
Staff at the prison, which opened just three months ago and has a population of about 700, dealt with the situation. Emergency services were called to the prison, which opened in December, after a fire at about 2000 GMT on Monday.
No-one was hurt and no major damage was caused during the incident. Three men have been placed in a segregation unit. Staff brought the situation under control. No one was injured and there was little damage to property.
