Caerphilly Council has said 15 schools in its area will be shut on Tuesday, while Rhondda Cynon Taf has confirmed one closure at Ysgol Gyfun Rhydywaun .
Rhondda Cynon Taf authority, where eight schools closed on Monday, said it would not operate home to school transport again on Tuesday "due to major concerns over the safety of children".

Andrew Morgan, the council's cabinet member for transportation and customer care, said: "The withdrawal of the home-to-school transport on Monday was taken after carefully consideration of the inclement weather which could seriously affect our road networks overnight.
"It will be necessary to continue to review the schools transport provision during these exceptional weather conditions in order to ensure the safety of pupils, transport operators and the general public.
"Again I must reinforce the message that given the below-freezing temperatures expected, motorists should avoid making any journeys unless they are absolutely necessary."
The council said any queries about school closures should be made to individual schools. Closures will also appear on the council's website once they are confirmed.
