Arriva Trains Wales human resources director, Dennis Baker said: "The collective agreements that cover our drivers require them to make themselves available for their rostered Sunday overtime.
"If they are unable to fulfill that obligation personally then they have to get someone else to cover it.
"When all the drivers at a depot say they are unavailable to work the Sunday overtime shifts this breaches the collective agreement and is effectively an 'overtime ban' which is regarded as unofficial industrial action."
