Initially scheduled for April 22, the vote was postponed until July 1 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The government allowed voters to go to their polling stations up to a week before the final date, in order to reduce crowds and restrict the spread of coronavirus. Citizens in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod, two of the cities most affected by the virus, were also given the option to cast their ballot online. | |
