The Met Office has issued an extreme weather warning for Wales as well as England and parts of eastern Scotland. Up to 15 cm (6 in) fell in some areas, with the south, west and mid Wales worst affected.

The Met Office issued a severe weather warning for Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Neath Port Talbot, Newport, Pembrokeshire, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Swansea, Torfaen and Vale of Glamorgan.
It said further outbreaks of snow are expected in some areas of Wales giving accumulations of 2 to 5 cm on lower ground near coasts, but up to 10 cm inland and over higher ground.
Gwent Police reported no problems while Dyfed Powys Police said all roads were passable with care.
North Wales Police were warning drivers to take care on icy roads - but reported no problems, as did South Wales Police.
