Airport closes over runway snow Snow-hit airport runway reopened
(about 3 hours later)
Dublin Airport has had to close so that that snow can be cleared from its runway. Dublin Airport has reopened its runway after it was closed for a time on Monday so that snow could be cleared from it.
An airport spokesperson said there were no flights coming in or going out of the airport. Dozens of Aer Lingus and Ryanair flights had to be cancelled and some inbound flights were diverted.
It is not clear how long the operation will take. Delays are still being experienced at the airport.
Passengers planning to use the airport are asked to contact their airline before leaving home. Airlines are advising prospective passengers to check if their flights have been cancelled before travelling.
