Three men have been killed when the car they were in careered into a family house in a Lanarkshire town. Three men killed when the car they were in careered into a family house in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, have been named by police.
The Ford Mondeo "took off" as it hurtled into a detached house in Hamilton on Saturday evening, destroying the front of the building. Local men Derek Campbell, 19, and Andrew Morrison, 27, and Anthony Stewart, 35, from East Kilbride, died at the scene in Dalton Hill.
All three people in the car, aged 35, 27 and 19, were pronounced dead at the scene in Dalton Hill. The detached home was left unsafe and had to be demolished after the Ford Mondeo ploughed into it on Saturday.
Two adults and their daughter, who were in the house when the crash happened, were unhurt, police said. Two adults and their daughter, who were in the house at the time, were unhurt.
The house was deemed to be unsafe after the crash and was demolished on Sunday afternoon.

Three killed as car hits house Eyewitness Chris Menary, 17, said when he went out into the street the family from the house and neighbours were outside.
Eyewitness Chris Menary, 17, said he thought the driver must have been travelling at about 80mph.
"I was just looking outside my house and you hear the car coming down the main road, you can tell he's obviously going to crash.
"He came to the embankment and sort of took off and sort of went right into the house. Basically he didn't really stop."
He said when he went out into the street the family from the house and neighbours were outside.
