Police probe 'suspicious' death Murder probe after violent attack

Police are treating the death of a man in the Govan area of Glasgow in the early hours of Saturday morning as "suspicious." A murder investigation has been launched after a man died following an attack in the Govan area of Glasgow.
The man was found injured in Crossloan Terrace at 0220 GMT, Strathclyde Police said. Mark Morrison, 25, suffered injuries in a disturbance in Crossloan Terrace at 0220 GMT on Saturday, Strathclyde Police said.

A post mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death is to be carried out later on Saturday. Police said Mr Morrison, who lived locally, had been the victim of a "violent attack".
Det Insp Blair Calderwood from Govan CID, who is leading the investigation, said: "Enquiries are at an early stage, however, forensics experts have been carrying out a detailed examination of the scene and officers have also been carrying out extensive door to door enquiries to glean any information which may be pertinent to the inquiry.
"CCTV is also currently being viewed to help try and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and those involved.
"Crossloan Terrace is a residential area and I would appeal to anyone who might have witnessed or heard the altercation in the street or who was in the vicinity of Crossloan Terrace in Govan at the time of the incident to get in touch as a matter of urgency."
