The court was told Jama took part in the robbery with his younger brother Yusuf Jama and his brother's friend Muzzaker Shah.
Yusuf Jama and Shah were convicted of murder, robbery and firearms offences last year.
Three other gang members who did not enter the shop were convicted of other offences.
Jama was extradited from Somalia in October 2007 and arrested at Heathrow by West Yorkshire Police officers.
