Man seen at murder victim's flat
(about 11 hours later) | |
Detectives investigating the murder of a Big Issue seller in Dundee want to trace a man seen outside the victim's home on the night he was last seen.
The body of Patrick McDade, 37, was found by his father at his flat in Brown Constable Street one week ago.
However, the last positive sighting of Mr McDade was on Saturday 17 January and police believe he was killed that night or the next day.
A man was spotted outside Mr McDade's home about 2200 GMT on the Saturday.
He is thought to be in his late 20s, about 5ft 8in tall and was wearing a dark blue or black hooded top with the hood up, dark bottoms and white trainers.
He was spotted coming out of the common close of the building where Mr McDade, who was known as Paddy, lived. He was then seen walking to the car park, then onto the street.
Det Ch Insp Willie Semple said: ''If he recognises himself from that description, he should make himself known to us.
"Equally, if anyone was in the Brown Constable Street area at about 10pm on Saturday, January 17, and saw this man, I would urge them to get in touch with us.
"Through our inquiries we are putting the jigsaw together, but there are still pieces missing and this man may very well hold vital information for our investigation."

The man was spotted about four hours after the last confirmed sighting of Mr McDade.
The Big Issue seller was captured on CCTV walking through the city centre at about 1800 GMT on 17 January.
He had just left his pitch in the Seagate and was seen by cameras walking in Panmure Street towards the Wellgate Centre.
The man was wearing dark clothes and a distinctive white and black Inca-style woollen bobble hat with tasselled ear flaps.
Officers will be on duty in Brown Constable Street on Saturday night either side of 2200 GMT to appeal for information.
Det Ch Insp Semple said: "We will be revisiting the area at that time in the hope of speaking to witnesses who may have seen the man who was in the common close a fortnight ago, or anyone who was in the area on that weekend.
"Their information could assist us in tracing the person or persons responsible for Paddy's death." |
