Version 0 of 1.

The body of a boy discovered in a Berkshire town is that of a teenager who has been missing for nearly three weeks, police confirmed.

Jonathan Marques, 15, left his home in Whitley, Reading, to go to school on 6 January but never arrived.

On Monday, Thames Valley Police found a body at Fobney Lock in Reading. He was formally identified on Wednesday.

Police said the death was not thought to be suspicious but further tests will be carried out to determine the cause.

Earlier, Det Ch Insp Stan Gilmour said the "tests were routine" and the "post-mortem examination was inconclusive".

A number of searches, a prayer service and marches have been held over the past three weeks by police, friends, family and volunteers.

On Tuesday, many people, including Jonathan's family and school friends, laid flowers at Fobney Lock, in the Small Mead area of Reading - where the body was found.

Some 3,000 people joined a Facebook group to help find Jonathan who was wearing his school uniform of maroon sweatshirt and dark trousers.
