Residents of an apartment complex near the centre of Belfast have been rescued from a blaze, the fire service said. Fourteen people, some of them disabled, have been rescued from a fire in south Belfast, the fire service have said.

Fire crews found a fire in one flat on the fifth floor of the complex and extensive smoke-damage. Fire service commander Chris Kerr said officers broke into flats and rescued five people from a fire on the fifth floor. Nine others were led to safety.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued five adults from the fifth floor and led nine others to safety from other floors. "Some of the residents were disabled and had to be carried downstairs by firefighters," said Mr Kerr.
Nine appliances and a total of 43 personnel attended the fire, which was started accidentally, the fire service said. "The crews were operating in very difficult and punishing conditions."
