The 40-year-old man had been standing outside the Highland Fling pub in Cowlairs Road when he was shot by two masked men at 2200 GMT on Saturday. The victim was taken to hospital where he is being treated for a hand injury. His condition is described as stable. Strathclyde Police said a birthday party was being held at the pub and a number of people were standing outside smoking at the time of the attack. Officers are in the process of tracing people who may have seen the attack, and they have appealed for witnesses to come forward. Detective Inspector Gordon McGregor said: "This was a callous attack on an unarmed man in front of a number of witnesses and it is vital that we identify and arrest those responsible as quickly as possible." |
