Elderly woman dies in house fire

An elderly woman has died after a fire broke out at a house in Sauchie, Clackmannanshire.

Central Scotland Police said 88-year-old Mary Leishman died following the blaze in Craigbank on Thursday.

Firefighters from Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service were called to the property shortly after 1240 GMT when smoke was seen at the house.

A spokeswoman for the police said a joint investigation into the cause of the fire was taking place.
