He was killed while on foot patrol close to the District Centre of Sangin in Helmand Province. | |
His death takes the number of British forces to die since the start of operations in October 2001 to 142. Next of kin have been informed. | |
Commander Paula Rowe, spokeswoman for Task Force Helmand, said: "All members of Task Force Helmand are deeply saddened by the death of this brave soldier. | |
"We offer our sympathy, thoughts and prayers to his family, friends and comrades as they try to come to terms with their tragic loss." |
