"I want the best children's service in the country for Doncaster. That is what Doncaster people deserve and that is what we can build." Mr Gray said work was still ongoing to get five homes up to standard.

He added: "Our staff do an excellent job in often extremely difficult circumstances putting the families of Doncaster first.
