Ryanair is expected to announce details of a new flight route at City of Derry Airport later. Ryanair has announced details of a new international flight route from City of Derry Airport.
At a time when other airlines are axing routes, the low-cost airline is expected to develop the range of destinations it offers. This will be the first scheduled service to operate from City of Derry to Alicante in Spain and will commence 4 June, 2009.
It is understood Alicante in Spain will be City of Derry Airport's new destination. Mayor Gerard Diver said; "A direct scheduled international flight is a long standing ambition for the city".
