An attacker that reportedly ran into a north London mosque and stabbed a man in the neck on Thursday has been arrested, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed. | |
According to witnesses at the scene, the suspect ran into Regent's Park mosque on Thursday afternoon and stabbed a Muslim worshipper during a call to prayer. Footage posted on social media shows a man in a red top being held down by officers, before being taken out in handcuffs. | |
He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. | |
"Police were called to a mosque near Regent's Park at 3.10pm to reports of a stabbing," the Met said in a statement. | |
The victim was aged in his 70s, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, and he was initially treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital. | |
