Men in van shot at by masked gang

Two men in their 20s escaped unharmed on Thursday night when shots were fired at their van in Londonderry.

Three masked men in a car stopped the van as the pair drove up Southway, in Creggan at about 2115 GMT.

The men got out of the car and fired shots at the van. The driver and his passenger were not injured and were able to drive away from the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a burgundy Toyota Avensis in the area at the time to contact them.
