A man has been arrested following a stand-off at a coffee shop in Nottingham city centre. | |
Police were called to the Costa shop off Friar Lane at about 12:20 GMT, with eyewitnesses reporting an argument involving a man holding a young child. | |
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said a 26-year-old man was spoken to by police negotiators and arrested on suspicion of assault at about 17:15. | |
He said the unharmed two-year-old was taken to hospital as a precaution. | |
A number of nearby roads that were closed as part of a police cordon have since reopened. | |
The BBC's Neil Heath said a huge crowd formed outside the cordon during the dispute. | |
