Man is shot and gravely wounded while driving in Northeast Washington
Version 0 of 1. A man was shot and gravely wounded Monday night near the campus of Gallaudet University in Northeast Washington, according to the D.C. police. The victim was unconscious and not breathing after the shooting, said Officer Hugh Carew, a police spokesman. As the victim was driving in the 600 block of M Street NE, someone opened fire from the sidewalk, the police said. They said “multiple shell casings” were found in the street. After being shot, the victim drove off at high speed to 8th and H Streets NE, where he was found. The man was taken to a hospital, police said. The sites are about a half-mile apart.
