One person fatally shot in Fairfax One dead, one injured in Fairfax County shooting

Authorities saidearly Monday that one person was killed in a shooting in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County. One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting Monday morning in Fairfax County, police said.
Few details were immediately available. Officers were called shortly before 2:40 a.m. to the 7900 block of Sausalito Place in the county’s Mount Vernon area for a report of a man who was shot, authorities said.
The incident was shared in a Twitter message just before 6:30 a.m. by Fairfax County Police. Officials said there was a report of a shooting in the 7900 block of Sausalito Place near Buckman Road in the Mount Vernon area. When officers arrived, they found one man outside a condominium suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken to a hospital in serious condition, police said.
Police said one person died and another person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Officers found a second man suffering from a gunshot wound inside a condominium, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police officials said the shooting did “not appear to be a random act of violence.” Fairfax County police are investigating a motive for the shooting.
“This does not appear to be a random act,” police Sgt. Greg Bedor said.
Police said the name of the deceased man will be released after family members are notified. No arrests have been made.
The shooting occurred in the Sequoyah neighborhood, a collection of garden-style condominiums several blocks west of Route 1. The scene of the killing was next to a community center.
Detectives remained for hours at the scene, where a large section of buildings was roped off.
Authorities didn’t release information about a possible suspect and asked for the public’s help. Anyone with information about the double shooting was asked to call 703-691-2131.
