A man was shot and killed Thursday night in Northeast Washington. Police have identified a man who was fatally wounded in a double shooting Thursday in Northeast Washington.
D.C. police said the incident happened around 9:36 p.m. in the 1800 block of Corcoran Street near West Virginia Avenue NE, a few blocks form Gallaudet University. Officers responded about 9:35 p.m. to the 1800 block of Corcoran Street NE, a few blocks from Gallaudet University, to the report of a shooting, D.C. police said. Two men with what appeared to be gunshot wounds were taken to hospitals, officials said.
The man’s name was not immediately released, pending the notification of family. One man, identified as 26-year-old Andre Carroll, who has no fixed address, died as a result of his injuries, police said. The other man’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The slaying brings the number of people killed in homicides in the city to 164 this year, according to a tracking done by The Washington Post. That’s compared with 160 homicides in 2018 for the District. Police asked anyone with information to contact them at 202-727-9099.
