Pensioner dies after flat blaze Two die in separate house fires

An elderly woman has died following a fire at her flat in the Partick area of Glasgow. Two pensioners have died following fires at their homes in the west of Scotland.
The emergency services were called out to a fire on Fordyce Street at about 0140 GMT. Firefighters found the woman after searching a ground floor flat. An 82-year-old woman died after a fire broke out at Fordyce street in the Partick area of Glasgow at about 0140 GMT on Monday.
The 82-year-old, who has not been named, died at the scene after attempts to resuscitate her failed. Then, just after 0600 GMT, firefighters attending a blaze at Kinnaird Drive in Linwood, Renfrewshire, discovered the body of an elderly man.
The cause of the fire is currently being examined by the Strathclyde Fire Investigation Unit. Investigations into the cause of both fires are currently on-going.
