One of the passengers, Yelena Voronova, told Channel 5 that prior to landing the crew announced on loudspeaker that a crew member was feeling bad. “A stewardess practically ran across the aisle. Aeroflot spokesperson told RBC that the deceased co-pilot had passed a routine medical check-up right before the flight and “had no health indicators that would have barred him from piloting the aircraft.”
