Ms Rankin was last seen on Christmas Eve. She was found dead by a relative. She had suffered multiple injuries.
Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Talbot said a man aged 39 and a woman aged 42 had been arrested and were helping with inquiries. Police said they had been given more time to question a 39-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman about Mrs Rankin's death.
Mr Talbot said Ms Rankin had sustained multiple injuries and it was not believed that burglary was a motive.
He said there had been no sign of a forced entry and nothing appeared to have been taken.
