House fires treated as malicious

Two early morning house fires in Larne, County Antrim, are being treated by police as malicious.

A container of flammable liquid was thrown at a house in Cymric Drive at about 0035 GMT on Wednesday.

A neighbour suffered a burn injury to his hand and needed treatment for the effects of breathing in smoke.

At about 0235 GMT, similar containers were thrown at another property in Cranbourne View, damaging a door and a nearby car and fence.

Police are trying to establish a motive for the attacks and have appealed for information.
