Burglars carry sword and hammer

A man has been confronted in his County Antrim home by two robbers armed with a sword and a hammer.

The robbers forced their way into the house on Castle Road in Ballynure at about 2345 GMT on Tuesday.

They attacked the man who managed to get away and lock himself in a room, where he raised the alarm. He was treated in hospital for minor cuts.

The burglars made off with a small amount of cash. Police have appealed for information.
