Now Scott has returned to that milieu as the producer of Wash Westmoreland’s “Earthquake Bird,” which also takes place in 1989 Japan, following Alicia Vikander as a Swedish translator who has to answer for the disappearance of an American friend (Riley Keough). Through flashbacks, the film delves into the mysteries of their relationship and the suspects who might be responsible for a deadly crime.
