"Although he was found outside the Doublet bar we don't believe he had been within the premises," he said. He added: "I am encouraged with the positive response which officers received from the 367 motorists and pedestrians they spoke to on Saturday evening.
"We still need to speak to anyone who saw Paul or was with him last Saturday. They may know something that could be relevant. "A number of those people who were interviewed have provided us with new information which will be scrutinised by officers - information which we hope will help us move forward with this inquiry."
Forensic examination Before the operation police said they did not believe that Mr Boland had been within the Doublet Bar.

Det Ch Insp Mason said that there had been a good response from the public, though he believed other people had not heard of the murder.
He added: "We will be seeking the co-operation of members of the public who may, through habit, travel the same route every week.
"They may have seen or heard something that may be of interest to us."
