Laughing royals on Christmas card

A photograph of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall laughing at a ferry naming ceremony has been chosen for the couple's Christmas card.

The image shows Charles and Camilla revealing the vessel had been named after the duchess during a summer visit to the Cornish port of St Mawes.

It captures the moment after the Saint Piran flag of Cornwall got caught on an umbrella Camilla was holding.

The image was taken by photographer Tony Hopewell, 60, from St Mawes.

As the duchess's umbrella and the flag became tangled, the royal couple burst into laughter, as did those watching.

However, the photograph has been altered, with a number of observers on an upper deck of the ferry removed.

The card will be sent to the the prince and duchess's friends, supporters and charitable volunteers.

Last year's Christmas card showed the couple smiling as they listened to a Welsh male voice choir in Ystradgynlais, Powys.
