Eoghan Quigg, from Dungiven, County Londonderry, sang his way into the final on Saturday. The 16-year-old, who is studying for his GCSEs at St Patrick's College in Dungiven, sobbed when he was told he was through to the final. Teenage singer Diana Vickers was voted off, leaving Eoghan, Alexandra Burke and boy band JSL to battle it out in the ITV1 show's final next week. Diana and Eoghan were both in tears as the announcement sunk in. Diana hugged her friend and told him: "I know you can win it." Support for Eoghan has spread across the world, with children in a South African township now rooting for the singer.Brian McGuigan has been drumming up support in Khayelitsha Youngsters in Cape Town's Khayelitsha are the newest fans of the teenage sensation.
