Northumbria police said the road over the Union Chain bridge near Berwick would be closed for the foreseeable future. The bridge, built in 1820, crosses the River Tweed linking Horncliffe in England with Fishwick in Scotland. The Chain Bridge Honey Farm, a tourist attraction nearby would remain open. according to a police spokesman. |
