The plane went down near the perimeter of Dillingham Airfield, a small airport.
Other details of the crash, including whether the plane was landing or taking off at the time of the crash, were not immediately known, Mr. Sakahara said. Names of the people killed were not immediately released. Mr. Neves said the plane had been used for skydiving, and that some relatives of people aboard had been waiting at the airport for their return. Many details about the crash had yet to be determined, he said.
Officials initially reported that six people had been on board.
