UK police 'wind up Moscow probe'
http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/world/europe/6190933.stm Version 0 of 1. British detectives investigating the murder of former Russian agent Alexander Litvinenko are said to be preparing to leave Moscow. Russian news agency Interfax quoted a source as saying the Scotland Yard investigators had interviewed six people during their stay. They included Dmitry Kovtun and Andrei Lugovoi, who both met Mr Litvinenko in London on the day he fell ill. The former Russian agent died in a London hospital last month. It is suspected he was poisoned by polonium-210. A deathbed letter attributed to Mr Litvinenko accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of ordering his poisoning, a charge the Kremlin has denied. Mr Litvinenko died on 23 November, 22 days after he fell ill after meeting Mr Kovtun and Mr Lugovoi at a hotel in London's Mayfair district. The two men deny any role in his killing. |
