The son of comedian Roy "Chubby" Brown has been charged following a police operation to smash alleged drugs gangs.

Martin Reilly, 35, of West Street, Stockton, was arrested last week during a series of dawn raids across Teesside.

He appeared at Teesside Crown Court on Tuesday charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs and was remanded in custody until 23 January.

A total of 19 people were arrested in the area and Mr Reilly is one of six who have now been charged.

Police also raided addresses in Kent and south London as part of Operation Sabre - a two-year inquiry into suspected drug dealing.

Mr Brown, whose real name is Royston Vasey, is understood to have little contact with his son.
