Arrest after hall door set alight

A 20-year-old-man has been arrested after the door of an Apprentice Boys hall in Londonderry was doused with a flammable liquid and set alight.

The fire, which was reported to the police shortly before 0100 GMT on Sunday, caused scorch damage to the entrance of the hall at Society Street.

One man was arrested nearby a short time later.

A police spokeswoman said the man remains in custody where he is helping officers with their enquiries.
