Gwent Police said a post mortem examination showed Mr Rogers died of blunt head injuries "almost instantaneously".

The next morning, police made an appeal to help identify the man. Police said they were investigating the cause of the incident and the van owner was assisting police with their enquiries although no arrests had been made.
