Elderly man dies in candle blaze | |

A burning candle was the source of a fire which led to the death of an elderly man, emergency services said. | |
Firefighters rescued the 70-year-old when the blaze broke out in the ground floor flat in Middlefield Crescent, in the Hilton area of Aberdeen. | |
The alarm was raised at 0640 GMT on Saturday morning. | |
Grampian Police said the man, who has not yet been officially named, died after the fire was caused due to a candle being left unattended. | |
There were no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal. |
