Low budget film Summer has scooped the best feature and best director awards at the Scottish Baftas.

Film and television stars turned out in force for the ceremony at the City Halls in Glasgow on Sunday night.

Hollywood star Brian Cox collected his prize for best film acting performance, for his role in The Escapist.

Ken Stott secured best television performance for his part in BBC drama Hancock and Joan. Computer game Grand Theft Auto IV won the multimedia prize.

Summer, which stars Robert Carlyle, is set in the Midlands but also has a Scottish director, Kenny Glenaan.

The award ceremony honoured those in front of and behind the camera in film and television in Scotland, with categories also recognising the best in animation, children's programmes, news and current affairs.

Bafta Scotland director Helen Anderson said it had been a "wonderful night".

She said: "We've had some well deserved winners and my congratulations goes out to them and all the nominees, along with thanks to Lloyds TSB Scotland for their valuable support in making this a fantastic occasion."
