If the federal government shuts down at midnight on Friday, nine federal agencies or departments will close.

More than 420,000 people will have to work without pay and 380,000 will be furloughed, unable to return to work or receive pay until their departments are funded.

National parks could close, and so could federally funded attractions in Washington, jeopardizing holiday plans for many.

As we report on the negotiations to avoid the shutdown, we would like to hear how the threat of it is affecting you. Please tell us what’s at stake.
