Man found in street is critical

A major police inquiry has been launched in Conwy after a 39-year-old local man was discovered unconscious in the early hours of Friday morning. Kevin Carroll was discovered lying by a phone kiosk in Llandudno with serious head injuries at the junction of Trinity Avenue and Mowbray Road. He is in a critical condition at Glan Clwyd Hospital at Bodelwyddan where his family are at his bedside. North Wales Police said they do not know how he was injured. Parts of the street have been cordoned off as forensic experts look for clues. Police are searching the immediate area and also Bryniau and Dyffryn roads. Officers said they would like to hear from anyone who was in the neighbourhood or who may have seen anything suspicious between 0100 and 0200 GMT.
